Course overview
For practitioners who already understand the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, the next challenge is integrating it into structured and operational investigative workflows.
This seven-day intensive programme is designed for experienced investigators, intelligence analysts, OSINT practitioners and cyber security professionals with a working knowledge of AI tools and prompting. It moves beyond introductory concepts into the practical application of AI to complex research, investigative analysis, online identity management, digital evidence, intelligence development, automation and reporting.
Participants learn to combine AI with established investigative methodologies, verify AI-generated information and build repeatable workflows that improve efficiency while maintaining legal, ethical, security and evidential standards. Throughout the programme, AI supports rather than replaces professional judgement.
What the course covers
- Structured AI-assisted investigation from planning and collection to analysis and reporting.
- Research strategy, multilingual research, entity discovery, source comparison and OSINT collection.
- Analysis of documents, communications, transcripts and other digital material.
- Social-media intelligence, narrative analysis, network indicators and coordinated activity.
- Cyber threat intelligence, including technical reporting and indicator interpretation.
- Structured analytical techniques, alternative explanations and intelligence-gap analysis.
- Advanced prompting, reusable prompt libraries and multi-stage workflows.
- Automation with human approval and quality-assurance controls.
- Authorised online account and persona development.
- Image, audio and video investigation, including OCR, transcription, translation and synthetic-media awareness.
Learning outcomes
Participants will be able to integrate AI into established investigative methods, analyse larger and more complex information sets, develop reusable prompts and workflows, identify appropriate automation opportunities, verify AI-assisted findings and apply security, privacy, operational-security and evidential controls.
How this course differs
This is Level 2 of Sorinteq's investigative AI pathway. It answers, “How do I integrate AI into my investigation?” The emphasis moves from individual AI tasks to structured, repeatable investigative workflows across research, evidence, analysis and reporting.
Progression pathway
