Progression model

A pathway with defined stages.

Learners begin with a specialist postgraduate certificate route, move into advanced academic and operational specialisation at postgraduate diploma level, and progress to research-led MSc study. Entry, credit, assessment, awarding arrangements and recognition should be confirmed for each intake.

PgCert — specialist foundation

Develop capability within a defined professional pathway and establish the academic foundation for further postgraduate study.

PgDip — advanced specialisation

Build advanced subject-matter expertise while developing research planning, academic judgement and an ethically supportable project proposal.

MSc — research and contribution

Complete an original research project relevant to cyber security, intelligence, investigation or an approved related discipline.
